Design Workshop

db_mx is a London-based design and build studio founded by Phil Dolman and Ben Dolman-Bowles. Their work blends digital precision with hands-on craftsmanship, using CAD, CNC, and modern fabrication techniques to create thoughtful, durable spaces and objects.

Phil has over 30 years of experience in interior design, with a portfolio spanning luxury hospitality and retail including The Savoy’s bars and Fenwick (Bond Street) as well as community-led projects like Circus (Brixton Market), a shop made entirely from recycled cardboard. Taking a wholistic approach to projects from concept, technical detail, tendering through to overseeing installation.

Ben brings 10+ years in digital art and experiential design, creating brand installations and immersive lighting structures for clients such as Nike, Uniqlo, Vans, and Converse. His background in 3D animation and interactive media adds a unique technical layer to the studio’s creative process.

Together, they merge design, technology and craft to deliver bespoke pieces and full interiors with a creative and practical eye.
